Depend 7 Days Lagoon Wave

Today I’ll show you the new 7 day Hybrid Polish System by Swedish brand Depend.

Carefully following Depend’s instructions I cleansed my nails, applied 7day Protecting Base, then two coats of Hybrid polish Depend Lagoon Wave and ended up with two coats of 7day Hybrid Top.

Oggi vi parlo del nuovo smalto 7 day Hybrid Polish System di Depend, marca svedese da poco arrivata anche in Italia.

Seguendo le istruzioni di Depend ho sgrassato le unghie, messo la 7day Protecting Base, poi due passate di smalto ibrido Depend Lagoon Wave, e ho finito con due passate di 7day Hybrid Top.

 

This is Depend 7 day Hybrid starter kit. It consists of a nail file, a base coat, a cleanser, a base coat and a top coat.

Depend says: “Depend 7day is a nail polish system for when you want a nail polish with super gloss, top-class durability and a “gel feeling”. This hybrid formula lasts for up to a week, is easy to apply, and is easily removed. No need for an LED/UV lamp, this nail polish system hardens in normal daylight or electric light”.

Questo è il kit 7 day hybrid, composto da una limetta, uno sgrassatore, una base e un top coat.

Depend dice: “Lo smalto con tecnologia ibrida Depend 7day è pensato per quando volete uno smalto lucido, con un’ottima durata e un effetto gel. La formula ibrida dura fino a settimana, è facile da usare e da rimuovere. Non c’è bisogno di una lampada UV o LED, infatti questo smalto si asciuga con la luce solare o artificiale”.

 

What did I think of it? You know I always like the idea of gel effect nail polish, I love it when a nail polish looks like a gel. And I am always intrigued by new products so I was very curious about this whole Hybrid thing.

First of all let’s talk about the brush because it’s what I loved most. It’s super flat, round and quite large. Being that flat it’s impossible to overload the brush with polish, which was really helpful to apply thin layers.

About the gel effect promise I must admit it really is super glossy. Duration was not as expected though. “Up to 7 days” basically has no meaning: up to 7 days might be 1 day, too! Anyway, on day 3 I had badly chipped nails. And I really mean badly, like all of my nails were chipped half way through them!

What can I say? If I look at Depend 7day hybrid nail polish as a standard nail polish I’m satisfied with it, because I’d change my mani faster than it would chip. If I had to buy it for the duration promise than I’d say it’s a waste of money. Depend Lagoon Wave is a super pretty colour though!

And that was it! Have you ever heard of any other hybrid nail polish systems? I am quite curious to know if it’s an original idea at least.

Che cosa ne penso? Sapete che la promessa dell’effetto gel mi tenta sempre. E sono anche sempre interessata a qualsiasi nuova idea in campo di smalti, quindi questa novità dello smalto ibrido mi incuriosiva.

Prima di tutto parliamo del pennello perchè è la cosa che più mi è piaciuta. E’ completamente piatto, a lingua di gatto e abbastanza largo. Essendo così piatto è impossibile sovraccaricarlo di smalto, cosa che aiuta nella stesura di strati sottili.

Per quanto riguarda la promessa dell’effetto gel devo dire che ci sta: è davvero lucido. Invece la durata non è stata quella che mi aspettavo! Ok che “Fino a 7 giorni” non vuol dire nulla, perchè comprende anche un solo giorno. Però al terzo giorno avevo scheggiature su tutte le unghie, e mica piccole!

Che dire? Se da questo smalto non ho pretese speciali posso anche ritenermi soddisfatta, tanto io non lo tengo sulle unghie abbastanza perchè si rovini. Però se lo dovessi comprare per la promessa dei 7 giorni allora sarebbero soldi sprecati. Almeno Depend Lagoon Wave è un colore davvero bello!

E questo è tutto per oggi! Avevate mai sentito parlare di smalti ibridi? Mi chiedo se sia un’idea originale o meno.
