The other side of holos: Spell Polish Lizard's Leg

For today’s installment of The Other side of Holos series Cristina and I are gonna show you a holo polish that found us in disagreement. We had completely opposite experience with it so I suggest you read both our posts.

The polish we picked is Spell Polish Lizard’s Leg, a metallic steel blue with a subtle holographic effect.

I had big troubles when it came to application. I used a standard base and when I painted Spell Polish Lizard’s Leg the colour dragged if I touched a part that I had already painted. Old linear holos anyone? This is why I warned Cristina to use an aqua base. But you’ll have to read her experience, I won’t spoil anything.

I also couldn’t control the amount of polish on the brush and even if I tried to unload it before painting it kept flooding everywhere. For this reason I found no ways to avoid bad brushstrokes that you can easily see on my middle and ring finger.

Per la serie The Dark Side of Holos oggi Cristina e io vi parleremo di uno smalto che ci ha trovato in disaccordo. Abbiamo avuto un’esperienza completamente diversa quindi vi invito a leggere entrambi i nostri post.

Lo smalto che abbiamo scelto è un indie di colore blu acciaio metallico con un effetto olografico non troppo marcato: Spell Polish Lizard’s Leg.

Per quanto mi riguarda la stesura è stata un incubo. Ho steso una base standard e quando sono passata allo smalto ogni pennellata mi portava via quella già data. Mi sono pentita di non avere usato una base acquosa, cosa che ho suggerito a Cristina. Ma leggerete poi da lei quello che ha fatto.

Ho fatto anche fatica a controllare quanto smalto rimaneva sul pennello, nonostante lo scaricassi più che potevo. La formulazione era acquosa e continuavo a inondarmi unghie e cuticole. Questo è stato il motivo per cui non sono riuscita a evitare i segni delle pennellate, che rimangono ben visibili anche nelle foto su medio e anulare.

What can I add? Maybe I was disheartened by the application issues but in the end I even didn’t like the colour and I so regretted buying it.

Che posso aggiungere? Forse mi ha talmente deluso la difficoltà di stesura che alla fine non mi è piaciuto neanche il colore e sono pentita di averlo comprato.
