Astra Gel Effect n. 807 Image

Hi everyone!

Today I have a short and sweet swatch for you. Astra is a cheap Italian cosmetic brand that is quite popular over here. Abroad it’s mostly known for its beautiful scattered holo collection I guess.

Tonight I have a polish from their Gel Effect gamma though. This is Astra Gel Effect 807. On Astra’s webpage I could find out it’s named Image. Similar to Kiko, you can find names online only, not on the bottles.

It’s meant to have a maxi brush, but I had a dude one and I had to cut some bristles so I can’t really comment on that. The gel effect promise is well delivered though! These are two coats without top coat and this polish is incredibly glossy for real, thus looking like a gel.

Colour-wise I find it really hard to describe. It’s a pink, that I am sure of. But it’s a dusty dark pink, quite nice!

Oggi ho uno swatch veloce di uno smalto Astra per voi. Per noi italiane è un marchio ben noto, anche se in alcuni posti è difficile trovarlo. Da smaltara devo dire che la collezione più famosa è sicuramente quella olografica. Oggi però io vi faccio vedere uno smalto della linea effetto gel. Si tratta dell’Astra effetto Gel 807. Sul sito Astra ho scoperto che si chiama Image. Hanno lo stesso vizio di Kiko: solo numeri sulle boccette e i nomi online.

Sulla boccetta c’è scritto che ha un pennello maxi, ma io ne ho beccato uno fallato quindi non saprei commentare in proposito. L’effetto gel promesso c’è eccome però! Queste sono due passate senza top coat ed è veramente lucidissimo, davvero sembra un gel!

Per quanto riguarda il colore è un po’ difficile spiegarlo. E’ un rosa, fin qui ne sono certa. Però è scuro e polveroso. Bello!

 

I want you to see a swatch under artificial light, too, because the colour changes quite a lot. It gets to almost a brick brown/red. I must admit I prefer the daylight colour. This shade it gets under artificial light is too much “old granny” for my taste. Kwim?

Voglio farvi vedere anche una foto sotto luce artificiale perchè il colore cambia parecchio. Diventa quasi un rosso/marrone mattone. Devo dire che preferisco il colore “al naturale”. Questa variante fa un po’ troppo signora di una certa età per i miei gusti!

 

All in all I am quite pleased by this polish, I love the true gel effect. Shame about the dude brush but I was able to paint it quite easily anyway because the formula is really great. From what I can see on Astra’s webpage there are 22 colours available. I will check a nearby store soon for any pretty pastel hoping the quality is the same! These would make such an easy perfect base for nail arts! I really like a good creme. Price is about 3,50€/4,00€ for 12ml, which is not bad either, at least over here!

What’s your go-to brand for cremes? I know lots of people swear for Zoya’s but they are too pricey for me honestly!

In generale sono soddisfatta di questo smalto, adoro il reale effetto gel! Peccato per il pennello farlocco, cmq la consistenza era talmente buona che sono riuscita a smaltarmi tranquillamente. Da quel che vedo sul sito Astra ce ne sono 22 colori. Appena riesco passo in negozio a vedere se c’è qualche pastello, perchè se tanto mi da tanto questi sono delle basi perfette da nail art. Adoro delle buone creme, ancora di più quando hanno un buon prezzo! I gel effect Astra dovrebbero stare intorno ai 3,50€/4,00€, che non è davvero male se son tutti così.

Voi avete una marca preferita per le creme? So che molte adorano Zoya ma per me sono fuori budget!
