Layla Thermo Polish Effect N. 1

Hi everyone! Today I will show you my very first thermal polish, which also happens to be my most recent purchase. I couldn’t wait to try it and yesterday evening I just grabbed the bottle and polished my nails with it! This is Layla Thermo Polish Effect N. 1, long name but that’s it. It’s the new Layla range of standard thermal polishes, not the gel ones released a while back. On the bottle it says “For artificial nails only” but who cares, right? It’s the same thing you read on neons for some reason. The colour is light blue to teal, although on my nails the teal part leans more towards green. Light blue is warm and teal is cold btw. I wore this for a day now and because I have very cold hands I couldn’t really get the whole light nails. I range from completely teal to teal tips only all the time. Actually, the teal tips are awesome, it’s just like having a gradient but without the hassle of making it. All the pics were not done using the hot/cold water trick, it’s just me during a standard day. Also, the other thing that totally surprised me is that this polish is shimmery! It’s not so obvious but it’s there and you can totally see that in some of the pics.

Ciao a tutti! Oggi vi faccio vedere il mio primo smalto ad effetto termico, che è anche il mio più recente acquisto. Non vedevo l’ora di provarlo e ieri sera ho preso la boccetta e via! Questo è il Layla Thermo Polish Effect N. 1 (come intero) e fa parte della nuova linea di smalti termici di Layla, non dei gel di qualche tempo fa. Sulla boccetta dice “Solo per unghie artificiali”, e ovviamente noi ce ne freghiamo, giusto? E’ la stessa cosa che trovate anche sulle boccette dei neon. Il colore del n.1 è un azzurro che va da chiaro a scuro con la temperatura. Chiaro = caldo, scuro = freddo. A dire il vero sulle mie unghie/carnagione lo scuro tende al verde. Cmq, ormai è un giorno intero che ce l’ho su e siccome ho le mani sempre molto fredde non ho mai avuto l’intera unghia chiara. Mi varia tra tutta scura a unghia chiara con punte scure. Il momento in cui è bicolore lo adoro, è come avere una French, o una gradient, senza fare nessuna fatica! Nessuna delle foto è stata fatta col trucco acqua fredda-acqua calda, sono le unghie in una normalissima giornata. L’altra cosa che mi ha sorpreso è che questo smalto è shimmer, non crème! Non si nota tantissimo ma in alcune foto lo vedete facilmente.

One last thing I’d like to add is that it dries semi-matte and all the pics are two coats. After taking the pics I tried using a top coat and the colour change is still there. So it works even with base and top coat, no worries (maybe it’s obvious but I had no idea if I could use base and top coats honestly). I am sooo happy about this polish, it didn’t disappoint! The only downside is the price. 8,90€ for 5ml which is really too much. I paid it 6,90€ and it was kind of a gift to myself but I do find the price tag way too high. How do you like it? And do you own any thermal polish? Suggestions for easy to find ones?

Ultima cosa che aggiungo è che asciuga quasi matte e nelle foto sono due passate. Dopo averle fatte ho provato a mettere un top coat e il colore ha continuato cmq a cambiare. Dunque non vi preoccupate: potete usare base e top coat normalmente (magari lo sapevate già ma io mi chiedevo se avrebbe funzionato lo stesso). Sono molto contenta di questo smalto, non mi ha certo delusa! Il difetto? Sicuramente il prezzo: 8,90€ per 5ml che è davvero un’esagerazione. Io l’ho pagato 6,90€ in offerta volantino allo Smoll e diciamo che è stato un auto-regalo che mi sono voluta fare ma rimango dell’idea che il prezzo è davvero troppo caro per una boccetta così misera. Ad ogni modo, vi piace? Avete qualche smalto termico? Se me ne volete suggerire altri che siano facili da trovare fate pure!
